1 About this policy

RoyJobs is a product of The Roy4d Company ("Roy4d", "we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy applies to the RoyJobs module — the website at roy4d.com/jobs, the RoyJobs mobile experience, and the RoyJobs Telegram bot (together, the "Service").

It is a module-specific supplement to our platform-wide User Privacy Policy, which governs your Roy4d account and other Roy4d services. Where the two documents differ about RoyJobs-specific handling, this policy applies. We also publish a Cookie Policy.

By creating a listing, subscribing to job alerts, applying for a listing or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

2 Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and information supplied by our platform when you sign in. The table below sets out what we hold for each part of RoyJobs.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect payment card numbers, CVs, national ID numbers or bank details for RoyJobs.
• We do not buy personal data about you from data brokers.
• We do not track your location in the background.

3 How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Run the marketplace — publish your listings, show them in search and category results, and let people open a listing to see its details and contact information.
• Connect people — deliver applications from seekers to the lister who posted the listing, so both sides can reach each other directly.
• Send the alerts you asked for — match newly posted listings against your chosen job types and areas, and notify you when something matches.
• Manage memberships and subscriptions — activate, renew, expire and enforce the lister annual fee and the seeker monthly subscription, and keep an accounting record of payments.
• Keep the Service safe and honest — detect spam, fraud, duplicate or misleading listings, abuse of contact details, and attempts to circumvent fees.
• Support you — respond to your questions, complaints and data requests.
• Improve RoyJobs — understand which categories, areas and features are used, using aggregated and de-identified figures where possible.
• Meet our legal obligations — including tax, accounting and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your RoyJobs data to send you unrelated third-party marketing.

4 Legal bases for processing

Where the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 or similar laws apply, we rely on the following bases:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you signed up for: publishing your listing, delivering your alerts, processing your membership or subscription.
• Consent — for optional things you switch on, such as job alert subscriptions, browser geolocation for "near me" searches, and linking your Telegram account.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the marketplace safe, prevent fraud and fee evasion, and improve the Service, balanced against your rights.
• Legal obligation — to keep payment and tax records and to respond to lawful requests.

You can withdraw consent at any time for anything based on consent — see Your choices and rights.

5 Who we share information with

We share personal information only in the ways described here.

Other RoyJobs users

• Lister contact details are public. While a listing is open, the business name, contact person, phone number and email address on that listing are shown to anyone who views it — that is how people reach you. Do not put details on a listing that you are not happy to make public.
• Applications go to the lister. When you apply, the lister receives your name, phone number, email address and message.
• Listing details are public — including the area, pay information and description you provide.

Service providers

• Payment and mobile-money partners — to process your membership or subscription payment and to verify the transaction reference you supply.
• Hosting, database and messaging infrastructure — the servers and services that run RoyJobs, including the platform that delivers your account session and Telegram messages.
• Analytics and security tooling — used in aggregate to keep the Service available and free of abuse.

Roy4d group and legal disclosures

• Other Roy4d services, where you use them and where the platform privacy policy allows.
• Law enforcement, regulators or courts, where we are legally required to do so.
• A buyer or successor, if Roy4d or RoyJobs is ever merged, acquired or reorganised — you will be told before your data moves to a new controller.

6 Job alerts & notifications

Seeker alerts are an optional paid feature. When you subscribe, we store the job types and areas you choose and use them to decide which newly posted listings to notify you about.

• Alerts run only while your subscription is active.
• Matching looks at the listing's category and its city, town or area against your chosen preferences.
• We record which listings were sent to you and whether you have read them, so we can show your notification list.
• Your preferences are visible only to you; other users are never told what you are subscribed to.

7 Payments, fees & subscriptions

RoyJobs has two paid options:

• Lister membership — $10.00 USD per year. One payment lets you publish unlimited job and service listings for twelve months.
• Seeker subscription — $5.00 USD per month. Gives you matching job alerts for a month, renewable.

Payments are collected through the Roy4d wallet and mobile-money channels (for example M-Pesa). We record the amount, date, transaction reference and the resulting expiry date so we can activate and renew your access and keep proper accounts. Payment providers process your payment credentials under their own privacy policies; we never store card numbers, PINs or mobile-money credentials.

We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even if you close your listing or delete your profile.

8 Cookies & local storage

RoyJobs uses a small amount of browser storage to work:

• Session cookie — an encrypted, HTTP-only cookie set by the Roy4d platform that keeps you signed in and lets the RoyJobs API know who you are. Without it you cannot post, apply or manage a subscription.
• Local storage — used by the platform for your active login session and your theme preference (light or dark).
• Service worker cache — stores static files so RoyJobs loads quickly and works better on poor connections.

These are strictly necessary for the Service; we do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can clear them in your browser settings at any time, though you will be signed out. See our Cookie Policy for the full detail.

9 Location data

RoyJobs is a local marketplace, so location matters — but we keep it minimal and in your control.

• Listing locations — the city, town and area you type into a listing are published. You may optionally add map coordinates; these are also published so the listing can appear in "near me" results.
• "Near me" search — if you tick "Near me", your browser asks your permission and shares your approximate position with the search request only. The coordinates are used to sort and filter that single search and are not stored by RoyJobs. Deny the permission and search still works using city and town filters.
• Alert radius — the radius you set for alerts is stored with your seeker profile so we know how wide to match.

10 RoyJobs on Telegram

You can optionally use RoyJobs through our Telegram bot. If you do, we link your Telegram chat identifier to your Roy4d account (usually by asking you to share your contact), so the bot knows who it is talking to and can act on your behalf.

• We store your chat identifier, the linked account, and your in-progress wizard state.
• Messages you send the bot are processed to carry out your request and keep the conversation going.
• Telegram itself processes your use of Telegram under its own privacy policy.
• You can unlink by asking us at privacy@roy4d.com, or by blocking the bot, which stops further messages.

11 How long we keep your data

We keep personal information only as long as we need it:

• Listings — until you delete them, or while your membership is current. When a lister's annual membership lapses, their listings stop being publicly shown.
• Applications — for as long as the related listing exists; deleting a listing deletes its applications.
• Seeker profiles, preferences and notifications — while your profile exists and your subscription is in use.
• Payment records — retained for the period required by tax and accounting law, even after your listing or profile is removed.
• Server logs — kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated.

When data is no longer needed we delete it or turn it into anonymous statistics that can no longer identify you.

12 Your choices and rights

You can manage most of your RoyJobs data directly:

• Edit or delete a listing — from Post & Hire → My Listings.
• Change your alert preferences — from My Alerts: pick different job types or areas, or clear them entirely.
• Withdraw from a process — simply stop applying; you can close your own application status view at any time.
• Update your contact details — in your Roy4d account settings, and on your lister profile.

Subject to applicable law, you also have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• Delete your data where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
• Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;
• Complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya) or your local supervisory authority.

13 How we protect your data

• All traffic to RoyJobs is served over HTTPS/TLS.
• Your sign-in session is carried in an encrypted, HTTP-only cookie and is invalidated if your password changes.
• Access to the RoyJobs database is restricted to the Service's own database account, and queries use parameterised statements to prevent injection.
• Payments are handled by established mobile-money and wallet providers rather than being stored by us.
• We keep server logs and monitoring in place to detect abuse and intrusion.

No online service can promise perfect security. Please keep your Roy4d password to yourself and tell us immediately at support@roy4d.com if you suspect your account has been compromised.

14 Children's privacy

RoyJobs is intended for people who are old enough to enter into an employment or services arrangement — you must be at least 18 years old to create a lister membership or a seeker subscription, and at least 16 to use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@roy4d.com and we will delete it.

15 International transfers

Roy4d is based in Kenya and hosts RoyJobs on infrastructure that may be located in other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection — for example by using providers bound by appropriate contractual safeguards, and by transferring only what is necessary.

16 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as RoyJobs grows — for example when we add a new feature that collects different information. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will notify you in the Service or by message before it takes effect.

Continuing to use RoyJobs after an update means you accept the revised policy.
